Who are we?

Masero was founded in 2020 with the mission of making SMEs more resilient against cyber attacks and more in control of cybersecurity. Based on years of knowledge and experience gained within enterprise organisations, we have developed a service for SMEs. With this, we offer enterprise-level cybersecurity at an affordable cost level.

We take a holistic approach focusing on people, process and technology. We help comply with applicable standards and regulations (such as NIS2), ensure that employees continuously stay alert to potential threats through up-to-date awareness trainings and monitoring 24?7 the environment.

From our Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Veenendaal, the Netherlands, our analysts are on standby 24×7 to detect, analyse and mitigate cybersecurity incidents of any size early so that your valuable business information is not at risk.

Besides SMEs, we also advise and support large organisations and governments in optimising their own SOCs.

Wolter Buijs Managing Director In 2020, Wolter decided together with Nico to establish Masero to make enterprise-level cybersecurity accessible to SMEs. In doing so, Wolter brings his expertise as a security consultant, with a focus on strong security policies and a holistic approach that puts the human factor at the centre. Nico van de Haar Technical director Nico is the technical brains behind Masero. With his experience as an ethical hacker, he knows exactly where vulnerabilities lie. By constantly following the latest technological developments, he ensures that the Masero team always stays one step ahead of cyber criminals. Wilko Buijs Operations Director As Operations Director, Wilko forms a crucial link within Masero's team. With his hands-on mentality, he always ensures the smooth running of daily operations, such as managing the Security Operations Centre without losing sight of the strategic goals. Elmer Evers Sales Director Since 2024, Elmer has strengthened Masero's management team. Elmer has gained extensive experience in the IT world and has versatile knowledge in sales and marketing within the tech sector. Thus, he knows how to effectively translate technology into business.

We have automated our way of working in such a way that we can include the customer's IT environment in our monitoring very quickly. This helps us to be able to immediately start securing the environment from day one and suggest areas for improvement. This way of working makes it possible to significantly increase and maintain the security level of both small and large enterprises.

Besides the technical aspect, we also advise our clients on information security and related regulations. We conduct a Security Health Check to map the current security level. In addition, we raise employee awareness through Security Awareness training. With our team of cybersecurity experts, consultants and ethical hackers, we are able to respond specifically to the customer's security needs.

We believe in the power of collaboration, with each contributing their own expertise. For our 24×7 MXDR services, cooperation with your Managed Service Provider (MSP) is crucial. We therefore work closely and transparently with our customers' MSP’s. We also collaborate with consulting firms to promote a holistic security strategy.

The new regulations NIS2 goes into effect in the third quarter of 2025. Even if you do not belong directly to one of the critical sectors, you will most likely have to take NIS2 into account. For instance, you will have to implement more stringent security measures to prevent and manage cyber threats. This includes risk analysis, incident response and continuous monitoring of their systems. That's where Masero would like to support you.
